ARTIST AND CREATOR OF THE SEASHELL OIL LAMP

Susan is an award winning artist who, for many years, did fretwork and woodworking. When she moved to Florida, she came up with the idea of making oil lamps out of seashells. Her husband had been making lamps out of different stones and the idea to use shells came from her love of seashells.

After testing the shells for durability and wear, she and her husband came up with the perfect combination of seashells and coral. The lamps are made with a special wick that does not burn away.

When Susan's husband passed away in 2018, she began making and selling the lamps worldwide at shows all over Florida to tourists from around the world.

Currently Susan sells her lamps in gift shops around the Gulf Coast.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SEASHELL OIL LAMP USE

B EST OIL RECOMMENDATION : LAMPLIGHT ULTRA PURE PARAFFIN OIL

1. Wick must be kept level within the tempered glass wick holder.

2.Wick and lamp are washable. wash and dry wick when needed.

3. Every ounce of oil will burn for approximately 3 hours.

4. After loading lamp with oil, wait 15 seconds before lightiing.

5. When oil runs out, lamp will go out by itself.

6. If the wick is taken out, replace it making sure the wick is visible inside the shell.

7. Ultra pure paraffin oil is sold in Ace Hardware stores and other hardware stores.

8. When loading the lamp with oil, tilt the lamp back and pour the oil in carefully.

9. If you plan to use the lamp outside, place it in a lantern or bowl to protect against wind.

10. Each shell is tested for leaks. No shell is used that has a leak.

11. The base of these lamps is made of coral from the Keys. The coral is harvested by a licensed dealer, legally, from construction sites and not from the ocean.

12. The lamps created by me are patent pending.

Lamp Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance can help extend the life of your lamp and keep it looking and working like new. Each lamp is submersible in water with a detergent or can be cleaned with a magic eraser. The wick is also washable with soap and water.
